Vancouver’s First Latin Businesswomen Society Has Been Born
As the world of business grows to have more diversity in the workplace, an all-female society named Latin Women’s Business has been born to be able to assist Latin businesswomen in striving, no matter the professional stage they are in. Created because there was no nonprofit cause of uniting and benefiting Latin businesswomen before Latin Women’s Business came along- filling in a need that the community was waiting for.
Additionally, the mission of this nonprofit cause is to encourage, and support the increase of Latin businesswomen in the workplace, and connect them with the business world. Ultimately, increasing the amount of diversity within Greater Vancouver’s business industry.
Furthermore, the creator of Latin Women’s Business, long time businesswoman and corporate Vice-President of PVTAX (A tax law firm in Downtown, Coal Harbour) Paola Villagra, states that “The plan is to help these women become successful in every way.” Beginning with the self-love and comfort a woman needs to have to confidently work in the business industry (which is one that men have had a long history of dominating), all the way to the business tools that a woman should have to help them succeed.
This will be done through various events including free educational seminars, gatherings where the Latin ladies can network, special events where the society of women can connect with other businesswomen, and female empowerment marketing campaigns.
Moreover, the official inauguration was on December 9, 2017 at the Vancouver Downtown Marriott with the Latin Women’s Business Breakfast. Here Latin businesswomen learned more about the cause, enjoyed the company of other businesswomen, and celebrated a place they can now call their own.
